When bereaved farmer Arnold Layne finds a group of willing workers on his doorstep, only requiring accommodation and food in return for their labours, he cannot believe his luck. However, things take a turn for the worse when ‘Arnie’s Angels’ – as they become known locally – are removed by the local council for being unregistered, illegal immigrants, and taken to a secret government laboratory. After serving time in prison for his crime, Arnie seeks out his Angels, coming into contact with Englishman Reece Norton, who claims to have Arnie’s best interests at heart. With Norton’s help, the farmer does find the Angels, discovering they have powers way beyond normal humans, and their home is in another Universe.
